M4BL Brand Refresh

Art & Design Manager/ Design Lead, 2023-2024

The Movement For Black Lives (M4BL) needed to refresh their visual identity. M4BL was born in 2014 in response to the various police killings of unarmed Black people, including Mike Brown, Eric Garner, and more. As it neared its 10th anniversary, M4BL needed a design system more suited for its public messaging around its Vision for Black Lives, which was about building the solutions to the societal problems it was raising for the previous decade.

The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) formed in December 2014 as a space for Black organizations across the country to create a shared vision, strategy, and policy agenda to win rights, resources, and freedom for Black people.

M4BL continue to expand our work as an ecosystem of Black-led organizations and individuals across the country engaging through our six membership tables, who are committed to our values of Black queer feminism, anti-capitalism, and abolition, and are aligned with our Vision for Black Lives.
